Moments to Treasure

What moves you? Are there moments when you are so overwhelmed by God’s presence that you just take it all in, close your eyes in a silent Thanksgiving and just be in the moment? For me it is nature— to see God’s creation in all it’s glory can move me to tears (ask my husband about the first time I saw the Grand Tetons from Mormon Row in Wyoming), but especially so during sunsets. And I happen to live in an area with amazing sunsets. A few nights ago, we had a sunset that was just surreal.

To call it beautiful seems like an unfair understatement, because the colors were explosive. the energy of the moment— breathtaking. I took some photographs and then stood still watching the light change, as time went by. All that my mind kept saying was:

Thank you… thank you, God. Thanks for giving me all my senses so that I can experience this. To see all your majesty at work in our world, well that is a privilege.

These are moments that I do not take for granted. They are simple yet moving. Perfect in every way. And a reminder that a treasure is not about material possessions, but about those moments and experiences that enrich our lives, and connect us with God Almighty. Have a beautiful weekend, friends.

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:21
